Are You Still True To Your Target Market?

I just referred out a project to a PR person the other day that could have been $1000's of dollars in my pocket but you know what? The project wasn't in my scope of the type of business I wanted anymore.

I used to take on projects like that (up until even this last February) but now I am much more focused on what and where I really want to spend my time and who I want to spend it with.

The client still hired me for a small portion of the project but with doing what I love to do - give feedback on their website to maximize that, write a couple follow up marketing letters to get the word out and to organize and write an email marketing campaign including working with some of their power partners.

This is the type of marketing I LOVE TO DO! I've learned that no matter what the amount of money I could make on a project, if it isn't something I really want or love to do, then it will stress me out because I won't want to get it done.

So why do that to someone (the client) and why do that to myself?

Just like I wrote in that article a few weeks ago - about being your true authentic self - I am truly living it and loving every minute of it.

You can do this too if you just DECIDE TO.

It can be hard if you're struggling for money but I'll tell you, it's totally worth it if you can bite the bullet for a little while - the jobs you are meant to have and the people you are meant to work with will come but YOU MUST BELIEVE!

Who is your IDEAL TARGET MARKET and WHY?

- Who is the most obvious and most likely person or company to buy your products or services?

- How can you really narrow it down so that you know EXACTLY who and what that person/company looks like?

- What are the easiest products or services to sell for you?

- What do you love doing the most?

- How can you structure or reposition your business model so that you are only servicing the customers you like working with that will actually pay you and benefit most from your products or services?

- What changes can you make so that your marketing materials - your website, brochures, flyers, mailers, email newsletters and even your business cards - project the EXACT MESSAGE that will best attract that SPECIFIC TARGET AUDIENCE and make them take action and buy the products and services YOU WANT to sell?

Ask yourself these questions and really BE TRUE TO YOUR TARGET.

I know you will find that you will instantly attract the kind of clients you WANT and the ones you don't want won't come around any more. But you must BELIEVE and TAKE ACTION to make a few mind changes and marketing shifts.

How To Determine The Right Length For Your Shorts

In the summer, wearing shorts is a given. It is way too hot for sweat pants and jeans, so shorts are a part of just about everyone's summer-wear. The thing about shorts is: one size does not fit all. Shorter shorts might look good on some people, and longer shorts (like capris) might look good on others. Here is how to tell what length is right for you.

If you are a man, most styles are at the knee or a little bit lower than the knee. Few pairs of shorts will come higher than that. On a hotter day, you may want to try shorts with a lighter material and stop just above the knee. For a breezy day, you might feel comfortable is shorts that mostly cover the knee. If your shorts are longer than that, you may end up feeling too hot, and looking a little bit like you are wearing flood pants (not a good look).

Some guys do like to wear shorter shorts, especially if they are in a sport like track or boxing. When working out or participating in sporting events, shorter shorts might be appropriate, and they might also be uniform. In that case, shorter shorts are normal.

Women have a few more options. Shorts can be as short as just below the butt or long and stop below the knee, like capris. If you are a tall lady, longer shorts will probably compliment you well. If you are short or an average height, higher shorts might make you look taller. Shorter ladies shouldn't wear really wide-legged long shorts, because they can make you look even shorter. Shorter shorts on a tall woman might make her look even taller. It depends on what you are comfortable with. If you have nice legs and want to show them off, go for the shorter shorts. If you are modest and don't want to show too much leg, you might consider shorts that come just above the knee.

So there you have it. The length of your shorts depends on your gender, height and preference. It may also depend on exactly how hot it is going to be. Not everyone can wear the same length of shorts and still look good. Buy what suits your body type and makes you feel the most confident. Try a few different pairs on, and you might see that you have more than one comfortable option.
